Access Toward Livelihood and Welfare Organisation (ALWO)

ACCESS TOWARD LIVELIHOOD and  WELFARE ORGANISATION (ALWO) is a non profit voluntary development organization. It was founded in Oct. 1997 by a group of altruist social workers. It is fully committed to develop the Condition and situation of the disadvantaged through implementing different program with particular emphasis on poverty reduction, Non-formal Education, sanitation, health services and vocational training. As a modest organization ACCESS TOWARD LIVELIHOOD and WELFARE ORGANISATION (ALWO) is striving hard to uplift the life style of the disadvantaged men , women and children that constitute the bulk of the community.

The aim of ALWO is to improve the socioeconomic condition of poverty trapped people living in the far-flung villages of Bangladesh. It’s a known fact that lack of employment opportunities coupled with resource constraint make the poor people stay within the fold of extreme poverty where they are   unable to make both  ends meet. Rural poor people have a higher dependency ratio, little formal education and fewer marketable skills. Their access to resources is limited.  Concerted action is required from the government as well as the development agencies to bring about tangible qualitative changes in the lives of the rural poor. It is also a fact that the poor men and women are frequently subject of wage discrimination particularly women are not only deprived of equal right and status with men but they are also victim of physical humiliation, oppression, abuse and violence.
