Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI)

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution was founded as the country's national standards body in 1971, following the country's liberation war. The newly founded institution joined the International Organization for Standardization in 1974. (ISO). Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution was founded as the country's national standards body in 1971, following the country's liberation war. The newly founded institution joined the International Organization for Standardization in 1974. (ISO). With the merger of Bangladesh Standards Institution and the Central Testing Laboratories in 1985, the institution was established by an Ordinance (Ordinance XXXVII of 1985). The institution is a key player in the development and promotion of industrial standardization throughout the world. A Director General is in charge of BSTI.
BSTI merged with the Department of Agricultural Grading and Marking in 1995.
