Following the Montessori style, it was a pre-school with only Play Group and Nursery, catering exclusively to the needs of Children from 3 to 5 years. The mission statement was “Learning can be fun and reading on adventure”, an d indeed the colorful classrooms, toys, flash cards, games and personal care of the teachers allowed the school to live up to its name – children did spend “happy times” while at school.In 1990 the school, being encouraged by the overwhelming response of parents towards its different teaching methods expanded up to class four, and had on agreement with “Scholastica” whereby the “Happy times students who pass class four wiould as a matter of course have their places reserved in Class five of Scholastica, without further admission test in 1993 Happy times expanded upto Ordanary Levels, rescinding the contract with “Scholatica and till today the school has continued catering to students from Play group to O-Levels.The school is the brainchild of Mrs. Sahat Sarwar. She began with considerable experience and expertise in practical education and development of children.Happy Times really stands out as an exclusive education provider. At the very initial stage, students are made to use their creative skills and retention power in a manner that before they are aware, they have developed learning abilities and techniques which help them throughout their educational periods in life. This essentially means they not only learn what is taught to them but also learn how to go about the learning process itself. At the senior level, it is more cognitive. For all levels. Learning is participative process, with short quizzes, written assignments, oral presentations, formal assessments and examinations.
