AHMED & CO.(SFACO) is a registered firm of accountants and consultants in Bangladesh and is nationally, and internationally, recognized as one of the leaders in professional practice for various undertakings in the public as well as private finance and other sectors. It was established at Chittagong in 1958 by its founder-partner, late Mr. S. F. Ahmed. It, later, in early 1960s, opened its offices at Dhaka and kept on extending and widening its practice in all spheres of profession in which he played a very prominent role all through. It then established its own offices and collaborative ties with major firms of chartered accountants in the UK, the USA and Pakistan. Having placed the firm on a solid footage, he went on to the UK and the USA to pursue major studies in computers and computer engineering. After completing his study, he returned to Bangladesh and spent his life in pursuit of his career and in advancement of the profile and prestige of the firm. He played a pioneering role in pushing the firm into the hithertofore unknown and untapped fields of high-level management consulting services and ushering in the country into the era of computerization, in association with Booz Allen & Hamilton of the USA in bringing in and establishing the entry of IBM 1401 mainframe computers for, the then, one of the major commercial banks of the country in mid-1960s, about the same time when another highly reputed local firm of practising chartered accountants, likewise, supervised and advised on the installation of ICL computers in the country.

SFACO has had, since 1975, at the initiative of the late Mr. S. F. Ahmed, been the technical assistance firm with the globally renowned firm, Ernst & Young International, Inc, with headquarters in New York, USA, one of the top four (4) accounting and management consultancy firms of the world. Ernst & Young was formed with the merger of two former global accounting firms, Arthur Young & Company and Ernst & Whinney, both headquartered in the USA.
