Rani Bhavani Government Women's College, established in 1973, stands tall as a symbol of progress for women's education in Natore, Bangladesh. The college's journey began with the combined efforts of the then Governor, Mr. Shankar, local educationists led by the eminent Mr. Shafiuddin Sardar, and the strong leadership of the first principal, Mr. Moize Uddin Ahmed. Their vision was to empower girls in Natore by providing access to higher education. Initially, the college operated from temporary locations, moving from a rented house near the railway station to Shukulpatti and even the banks of the Narod River. Despite these early challenges, the founders' dedication remained unwavering.

A turning point came in the early 1980s thanks to the initiative of Mr. Md. Abu Hafiz Sahib, the then SDO of Natore. He facilitated the college's relocation to a permanent home - a historical zamindar house marked by a grand lion-arched entrance in Shukulpatti. This new location offered a more stable environment for learning. The college was also named after Rani Bhavani, a revered figure associated with Ardhabangeshwari, reflecting the hope that the institution would inspire strength and knowledge in its students.

The academic offerings at Rani Bhavani College have steadily expanded over the years. In the beginning, students could pursue only humanities and commerce subjects at the higher secondary level. However, 1981 saw the introduction of science programs and graduation (pass) courses, broadening the educational scope. A significant leap forward came in 1989 with the college's nationalization. This led to increased government support and further growth. The year 2005-2006 marked another milestone with the introduction of the first honors course - Islamic History and Culture. Since then, the college has expanded its honors program to encompass Bengali, social work, political science, accounting, and marketing, bringing the total to six. Currently, Rani Bhavani College boasts a student body of over 5,230, along with a dedicated faculty of 33 teachers and 18 staff members.

Rani Bhavani Government Women's College has overcome numerous obstacles to become a flourishing institution that plays a vital role in women's education in Natore and the surrounding regions.  The college is not just about academic achievement; it fosters a well-rounded education, encouraging students to excel in science, literature, culture, and sports.
