Radio transmission in the area currently framing Bangladesh began in Dhaka on December 16, 1939 as a component of All India Radio. At first, the station was situated in Nazimuddin Road, old Dhaka. Radio transmission in the area currently framing Bangladesh began in Dhaka on December 16, 1939 as a component of All India Radio. At first, the station was situated in Nazimuddin Road, old Dhaka. Its most extreme transmission range was 45 kilometer.Leila Arjumand Banu performed on the main day of broadcasting. In 1954, telecom began in Rajshahi. On 8 September 1960, the radio broadcast was moved to a cutting edge office in Shahbag with six expert studios and renamed to Radio Pakistan. More provincial stations were opened in Sylhet in 1961, Savar in 1963, Rangpur in 1967 and in Khulna in 1970.     It assumed a significant part during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. On March 26, 1971, the telecom focus of Radio Pakistan was utilized to communicate a revelation of freedom, which was gotten by a Japanese boat in Chittagong Harbor and retransmitted. During the war, the Pakistan Army assumed control over the Radio Station in Dhaka and the Bangladeshi worked Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra (Independent Bengal Radio Station) clandestinely.Because of hefty shelling, the station must be migrated a few times, and eventually moved to Calcutta on May 25, from where it would communicate until the finish of the war. On December 6, it was renamed Bangladesh Betar. Its present central command were finished in 1983 at National Broadcasting House, Agargaon.
