Government Hossain Shaheed Sohrawardy College (সরকারি হোসেন শহীদ সোহরাওয়ার্দী কলেজ) is an undergraduate level college awarding graduation in various disciplines of science and arts in Magura, Bangladesh. After a long struggle, the college was established at 1940. At that time, the college was an intermediate college. With the passage of time, the scopes of the college expanded and it became a degree (pass) awarding college. After the independence of Bangladesh, the college was nationalized at 1979. The college is now well renowned for its academic and administrative structure. The students are taught by prolific and qualified teachers. It is now the biggest and the best one in Magura district.nThe college runs undergraduate level disciplines attached to the National University Of Bangladesh. There are 14 disciplines awarding undergraduate (honor’s) certification, 4 disciplines (BA, BSc, BBS, BSS) awarding degree (pass) certification.nThe college also runs higher secondary level education following National Curriculum of Bangladesh and is attached to The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jessore. The success rate of the students of the college in Higher Secondary Certificate examinations is commendable. The college also has a reputation for its good performance in sports and cultural activities. Its students take part in bangladesh national cadet corps and rover scouts.
