Ashuganj Power Station Company Limited (APSCL) is one of the largest power generation companies in Bangladesh having installed capacity of about 17% (as on October, 2019) of total electricity generation capacity in the public sector of the country. At present, the total capacity of its eight (8) units is 1690 MW. As a part of the Power Sector Development and Reform Program of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB), Ashuganj Power Station Company Limited (APSCL) has been incorporated under the Companies act 1994 on June 28, 2000 as a private limited company. Later on March 01, 2003 the company converted into public limited company. The registration no. of APSCL is 40630 (2328)/2000. Ashuganj Power Station (APS) Complex (with its assets and liabilities) had been transferred to the APSCL through a provisional vendor’s agreement signed between BPDB and APSCL on May 22, 2003. The management of the company along with operation, maintenance and development vested upon a management team consisting of the Managing Director, Executive Director (Engineering), Executive Director (Finance) and Executive Director (Planning & Project). Its registered office is situated at Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria and the Corporate Office of the company is situated at Bijoy Nagar, Dhaka. At present the office of Managing Director, Executive Director (Finance), Company Secretary and their concerned offices working in the Corporate Office. Right now, 99.99% of the total shares of APSCL owned by BPDB and the rest of the shares owned by the Finance Division, Planning Division, Power Division & Energy Division of Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
