Hasmoter Nessa Girls High School was founded in 1995. For over 20 years, we have been serving the educational needs of girls in Bangladesh. Our goal is to educate females who come from lower-income backgrounds and would not otherwise have any access to formal education so that they can become productive members of their community and live successful lives. We want to empower girls in our community in a positive way so that they can be equals with men in the workplace. It is our goal that our students become full members of their community.

Life for girls in Bangladesh is not always easy. Not only do they traditionally lack access to formal education and are therefore behind their male peers, but they are also often forced into marriage when they are as young as 14 years old. Our goal is to prevent teen marriage and instead show these girls that there is another way. We want to fill our students with hope that they can achieve something powerful with their lives. Education is that key to empower our students. We want out students to use their education to take control over their own lives and be able to do what they always dreamed of.

Hasmoter Nessa Girls High School was named after its founder's mother to honor the work that she did for local villagers. It is through her generous and selfless work that the way of life for these villagers was much improved.

Now, as a result of our dedication to educating the girls of Bangladesh, the girls who attend our school have the chance to help their own local villages. Poverty is rampant in the villages of Bangladesh, but through education, our students have a chance to make a difference. Through their hard work and the opportunities that a high school education opens up to them, the girls we instruct can work to eliminate the poverty that has plagued the lives of many in their villages.
