Established on June 1, 1982, spanning across 27.37 acres of land nestled in the heart of Mymensingh town, Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College stands as a beacon of empowerment and education for young meritorious girls. It emerged as the pioneering girls' cadet college, inheriting the legacy of the Residential Model School (RMS). The primary aim behind its establishment was to provide quality education to young girls, nurturing them into well-rounded individuals equipped to excel in both defense and civil services.
The inaugural admission tests for Classes VIII, IX, and X were conducted in early 1983, paving the way for the first cohort of girl cadets to step into the corridors of Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College on March 29, 1983. The journey continued with the admission test for Class VII cadets held on February 12, 1983, followed by the induction of the first batch of Class VII students on May 29, 1983. Subsequently, the admission test for Class XI cadets took place on August 6, 1983, with their enrollment in the college on September 10, 1983.
Capt. (Rtd) Karim Uddin Ahmad served as the first Principal and project director, leading the college with dedication and vision. Mr. Ashraf Ali assumed the role of the first Vice Principal on October 18, 1982, while the first Adjutant, Capt. (later Major) Monower, joined the college on August 7, 1982. Since its inception, Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College has upheld its motto, "Oh Lord, Enhance My Knowledge," embodying a commitment to academic excellence and personal growth.
