Western Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. (WEL) established in 1998 with an aim to contribute significantly in Nation Building Activities especially on the construction of Hydraulic structures, Water control structures i.e. Regulators and Embankment, Bridges, Road and Highways, Jute related products and Solar Power. After the inception of WEL in 1988, this company always in a mind to have a sustainable approach towards achieving the desired goal that is to look after the Economic, Environmental and Social sustainability. To have the significant input on the sustainable approach WEL always in a mind to move forward with Mechanization and Modernization of the equipments and machines   with a view to maximize  our effort , time and minimize the efforts on the labor and environment.
Right from the inception till today WEL have completed 31 different types of projects and currently 1400 employees are working relentlessly in 30 different projects in Bangladesh. More than 500 numbers of machines and equipments have been incorporated   in the mechanization and modernization process.
The great rivers like Padma, Jamuna, Meghna, Tista and Brahmaputra from the time immemorial causing unprecedented havoc to the populations along the banks of the rivers. Navigation also causes serious difficulties as alluvial soil could not be dredged properly. Now to comply with the present scenario of dredging WEL acquired 26 numbers of modern dredgers from USA, The Netherlands and from China and WEL is now proud to be the leading dredging company in South East Asia.
