Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust (BRWT) was established in, 1984 as per provision of section - 3 of Presidents Ordinance no. LXIX of 1983 by the Govt. of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh for the Religious welfare of the Buddhist Community in Bangladesh. The Board of Trustees is being nominated by the Government as per provision of 4 & 5 of the Trust ordinance.
